U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) climbs into a General Motors Fuel Cell Vehicle at a ceremony for the commissioning of the world's first military fleet of fuel cell vehicles Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Fort Shafter in Honolulu, Hawaii. The fleet of 16 General Motors fuel cell vehicles is funded by the Army Tank Automotive Research Development Engineering Center (TARDEC), Air Force Research Laboratories (AFRL), and Office of Naval Research and Air Force Research Laboratories (ONR). Each branch of the military will be collecting the necessary data and experience it needs to determine future applications of fuel cell technology. (Photo by Marco Garcia for General Motors)
