The U.S. Army, Pacific is helping to demonstrate the practicality and applicability of hydrogen fuel cell technology as it unveils the world’s first military fleet of fuel cell vehicles Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Hawaii. The fleet of 16 General Motors fuel cell vehicles is funded by the Army Tank Automotive Research Development Engineering Center (TARDEC), Air Force Research Laboratories (AFRL), and Office of Naval Research and Air Force Research Laboratories (ONR). This evaluation program allows each branch of the military to collect the necessary data and experience to determine future applications of fuel cell technology.
